Girl inserted a plastic bottle in her private part, A Risky Act Leads to a Medical Emergency
In a surprising case from India, a 27-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and difficulty passing stool. After initial checks, she revealed that she had inserted a plastic bottle into her body for sexual pleasure, which led to the troubling symptoms.
The woman initially visited a local hospital near her residence. However, doctors there were unable to remove the object safely, prompting her transfer to a more advanced facility for further treatment.
Surgery Without Cutting Saves the Day
Upon admission, an X-ray scan revealed that the bottle was lodged in her rectum, causing a dangerous blockage. The condition was considered critical, and immediate surgery was deemed necessary.
A team of five doctors — Dr. Tarun Mittal, Dr. Ashish Dey, Dr. Anmol Ahuja, Dr. Shreyash Mangalik, and Dr. Prashant Agarwal — performed the procedure. Remarkably, they were able to extract the bottle without any external incisions.
The team used a medical procedure called sigmoidoscopy, which involves inserting a thin tube with a camera to examine and operate on the lower intestine. This method avoided the need to cut open the abdomen or intestines, minimizing recovery time and reducing risks.
A Cautionary Case With a Broader Message
The woman was reported to be in stable condition after the procedure and has since been discharged from the hospital. According to Dr. Anmol Ahuja, swift action was critical:
“It was necessary to operate without delay. If the intestines had been damaged, the situation could have become life-threatening.”
Dr. Tarun Mittal, who led the surgery, emphasized that this was not an isolated incident.
“We’ve seen several cases where patients insert foreign objects into the rectum. This is often done for temporary pleasure, but the health risks can be extremely serious.”
He added that in such situations, it’s important to assess not just the physical health of the patient, but also their mental and emotional well-being.
“Patients—both men and women—have been known to insert various items such as bottles or vegetables. These actions can lead to internal injuries, infections, or even permanent damage.”
This case serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and awareness when it comes to sexual exploration. While personal freedom and bodily autonomy are important, understanding the medical risks and practicing safety is equally vital.
Medical professionals urge individuals not to feel ashamed to seek help in such emergencies and emphasize that confidentiality and care are always top priorities in hospitals.
