Diddy Trial Shaken by Rogue Juror. Jury Hits Roadblock Just Two Hours In
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex crimes trial took an unexpected turn just hours after the jury began their deliberations. After being dismissed from the courtroom to begin deciding the verdict, the jury sent a surprising note to the judge. The note claimed that one juror might not be willing to follow the instructions given by the court.
According to TMZ, the juror in question, known as Juror 25, is a 51-year-old Hispanic man with a PhD in molecular biology and neuroscience.
The jury foreman sent a message to Judge Arun Subramanian saying, “We have a juror, Juror 25, who we believe cannot follow Your Honor’s instructions.” This caused concern among both the defense and the prosecution.
Judge Responds, Experts React
Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, asked the judge to remind the jury that it was still too early to worry about disagreements. Meanwhile, prosecutors urged the court to caution the jurors not to share details of their discussions with others. In the end, Judge Subramanian sent a written note reminding the jurors to stick to the law and return to their deliberations.
The judge also repeated key parts of his earlier instructions. He told the jury that in order to convict Diddy on the racketeering charge, they must agree that he and his alleged co-conspirators committed at least two specific crimes within a 10-year period. These crimes could include sex trafficking, witness tampering, bribery, drug distribution, and others.
Judge Subramanian also reminded the jury not to post or share anything about the case on social media. He asked them to keep all discussions private and to work together under the guidance of their chosen foreperson. The alternate jurors were officially released from their roles once deliberations began.
Legal Experts Say the Jury Note Is a Big Deal
Alan Tuerkheimer, a legal expert and jury consultant not involved in the case, said the note from the jury was a “significant” moment. He explained that such an issue, especially so early in the process, could open the door for an appeal if Diddy is found guilty. “Deliberations can get heated,” he said. “But when jurors say one of them refuses to follow instructions, it stands out.”
Tuerkheimer also said that having a “wild card” juror can be risky in any trial. He believes this could work in Diddy’s favor if his legal team needs to challenge a guilty verdict later on. “This kind of conflict in the jury room could become important in future appeals,” he added.
Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani also gave his opinion. He told The U.S. Sun that while the prosecution had some weak points—like not calling their most important witness—they likely presented enough evidence to secure a conviction on at least one charge. “I think prostitution is in the bag,” Rahmani said. “They were paid and flown across state lines.”
What Happens If Diddy Is Found Guilty?
If convicted, Diddy faces serious consequences. A racketeering conviction could lead to a life sentence, though experts believe that outcome is unlikely. Charges like sex trafficking carry up to 15 years, and transporting for prostitution carries up to 10 years.
One of Diddy’s former bodyguards, known as Big Homie CC, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and said he doubts Diddy will get a life sentence. “He might get four or five years, something like that,” he said, predicting conviction on lesser charges instead.
For now, Diddy remains in a courthouse holding cell while the jury continues to deliberate. He’s been seen passing time by reading, often carrying books with him throughout the trial. As the public awaits a verdict, the unexpected twist with Juror 25 has only added more suspense to a case already filled with controversy.
